Purpose
To provide
searches of more than 300 computer databases through the National Library of Medicine, GALILEO or other sources as needed.
Types Of Information
Retrieved
There are three
types of information available through computer searches:
- Bibliographic - gives article title,
journal title, volume, page, date, and (when available) an abstract.
- Factual - gives factual information as
in a book and is usually refereed.
- Full-Text - provides copies of
material from existing sources such as journals and basic texts.
How To Request Computer
Searches
The library
performs searches for all Mercer School of Medicine students, faculty and staff
as well as for all Memorial University Medical Center Team Members. To request
a search, contact us by email (library@memorialhealth.com), phone (912-350-8345 ), FAX (912-350-8685
), or in person. Normally, search results will be available in 2-4 working
hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm. In clinical emergencies, it may be
possible to get search results within the hour.
Searches may be
picked up at the library or received via mail, fax, or email. Please tell the
librarian your preference for receiving search results.
