Accessing Journals This
class introduces participants to the journal content available to them via the
Health Sciences Library, both print and electronic, and how to find it and
access it.
Accessing
Books This class introduces participants to the books available to them
via the Health Sciences Library, both print and electronic, and how to find
them.
PubMed Searching The
purpose of this hands-on class is to help participants learn to search the
PubMed (MEDLINE) database, a free resource from the National Library of
Medicine. Participants will be introduced to the basics of PubMed searching,
and will be offered tips for narrowing search results and finding the
information they need for research or clinical problem solving.
Evidence-Based Medicine Library
Resources This class will focus on locating and using evidence-based
research tools for clinical problem solving. Students will be introduced to the
Cochrane Library, the National Guidelines Clearinghouse, ACP PIER, Dynamed, the
PubMed Clinical Queries function, and other online
resources.
Medical Image
Resources This course provides a review of online resources providing
access to image and multimedia files for use in health sciences
education.
Drug Information
Resources This course introduces participants to the drug information
available to them electronically via the Health Sciences
Library.
Diagnostic
Tools This course introduces participants to the diagnostic tools
available to them electronically via the Health Sciences Library such as
Dynamed, ACP PIER, MDConsult, AccessMedicine, eMedicine and Natural
Standard.
